Does anyone actually like Tony Gwynn's voice?

He's always made some good and insightful points about the game but I've always found his high pitch gravelly voice incredibly annoying and now that he's an announcer/commentator on the TBS games, they're becoming difficult to watch . . . anyone else feel the same? The man needs some voice training to become a more bearable smooth baritone.

I think this is a valid question as when listening to & watching a baseball game for three hours, the quality/sound of the announcer's voice(s) can become noticeable and affect your enjoyment of it, sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously. I find there is something magical about Vin Scully's voice, for instance. No, I don't really enjoy the sound of Gwynn's voice although I was a big fan of his back when he was a player and agree that nothing is wrong with what he says, just how his voice sounds.

Yes, he needs lessons but I like what he has to say so I just overlook the voice.

its really facinating lol IDC NO1 CARE DONT WAISTE POINTS TO ASK STUPID QUESTIONS LIKE THIS ALL THAT MATTERS IS THAT HE ROCKS AND IS A HERO AND HOF'r

i realy do not like his voise but thats just me.

i dont mind his nasally voice i tend to be too interested in the game to care what the commentators say

It really doesn't matter, he was an amazing baseball player . . . and he has more knowledge on the game than any professionally trained announcer or commentator . . . deal with the voice for all that he adds to the game . . .

whatever, bad question, why do u have to make fun on him?

Who cares what he sounds like, he's got some good info on hitting and what players might be thinking in game situations. I don't really mind that TBS is doing the games. At least they are on at a respectable time. None of this 10:00 PM garbage that Fox or ESPN would do.

Who cares about his voice? he knows more about hitting than anyone since Teddy Ballgame. He is a class individual. he gives back to the game. he is a great person. I'll listen and learn from him!

Here's a nice tall glass of WHO GIVES A FLYING CRAP?!

Anywho, I like Tony Gwynn as a person and a player, so I really couldn't care less how he sounds when he talks.

You should have stopped your question before the word "but" in the first sentence.

If it's so difficult to watch turn the mute button on and switch to the radio. Gheesh! He's there to provide commentary not sing.

I hate his voice.
I was talking to my father about this same thing during dinner.
He sounds like a 10 year old boy with a lousy southern accent.
He was a great player but I find his voice very annoying. Sorry.

He sounds like Tairy Greene, CEO, Gravy Robbers. Anyone who knows what I'm talking about give me a thumbs up.

"The key to becoming a good gravy robber is to keep yourself in peak physical condition because you're going to be required to stay in stealth positions for hours, crouching, lingering, hovering."

"THE GRAVY, IS THEIRS!!!"

"You're going to need to creep up on the other customers so when you go an you snatch that graavee up from the customer's table you'll be prepared."
