| How do I train myself to think of my favorite team as an enemy, and start liking a new team? |
|
I have been trying to not like the Cubbies ever since I realized the curse is real becawz Bartman. I dont want to go my entire life without seeing my favorite baseball team win a world series. Anybody ever trained themself to not like a team before? I really want to like a team like Boston or Oakland or something, heck even my sworn enemy, the Cardinals. Basically, the Cubs have been pissed on by god even more latley with the Red Sox, White Sox ending their curses, then the Cardinals winning it all. Now the Rockies or DBacks of all teams will win the title. |

Try this. Imagine that They are a Canadian Cricket team! |

If you really want to hate them start betting on them. Sorry but you are screwed. Once you have set an alligiance to a team your brain becomes automatically hardwired. Honestly being a Cubs fan is part of who you are now. Don't fight it, enjoy their successes, mourn their losses and move on. Besides if the Cubs ever win the World Series, wouldn't it be great to know you stuck with them through the good times and the bad? Hell if the White Sox and the Red Sox were able to defy the odds and win it all, there's always hope for the Cubs I don't know. Just stop following the cubs. Start following a new team. Maybe over time that will work. Just don't blame Steve Bartman. The Cubs had 2 outs left in the inning. It was just like a foul ball. They had a chance to turn 2 anyways. I'm shure anybody would've done that. Just forget it and move on. He has suffered MORE than enough. First off, I'm impressed to hear a Cubs fan praising (kind of) the Cardinals. I'm man enough to admit when the Cubbies do well, but that hasn't come up in my lifetime during the postseason. Unless you move to another city, I'm afraid you're stuck with the Cubs though. Sure, you could switch to the White Sox, but you'd secretly root for the Cubs. So if you're not moving, just sit back and enjoy the game. Win or lose, baseball is still America's Game. As a fellow Cubs fan, I sympathize and empathize. Why would you want to? It never works anyway. You have a favorite color, too, and you don't know why that one is your favorite color, either. It just is. You like your team and it takes quite a radical life change to change it. You can't just decide to change. If you like baseball best no matter how much you try to make football your favorite, you still check the box scores. You're a Cubs fan. Period. |
