What should I do to train for High School Baseball?

I havent played for about 5 years now. This will be my sophomore year, so it is a little bit late for me to join as a newby. Since freshman year i did not want to sign up because of my lack of experience, but upon seeing the people who made the team last year, I think I will be able to make it. Training suggestions?
(I played SS for around 4 years.)

Assuming your defense is good, I have two suggestions for the hitting:

1.) Buy a pitching machine and backyard net/cage. It can be a real-baseball machine, a foam-practice-ball machine, a wiffle-ball machine, or a soft-toss machine. Prices range from $100 to over $1000. And if you don't want the net, then just use the nearest park diamond.

Here are two sites for machines:

Many machines can also toss grounders to you, or fly balls. Soft-toss machines can likewise simulate 2nd-to-short relays on double plays. You'd just set up a catch-net over at first (also available from the above sites) and have the soft toss machine act as the second baseman.

And ...

2.) (Top secret) If you're a contact hitter, read this. (Adapt as necessary to your style.) Don't tell anyone. Pretend you knew it all along.

work out a gym on agility and arm. lift wieghts.

I think you should run a lot and if there is a batting cage near where you live, use it. If you're planning on being a pitcher than throw baseballs at bottles or cans. (I've never been on a baseball team so I don't know if this will actually help)

Body building and lots of batting practice. What team doesn't like a good hitter?

The first thing i would do is train hitting and lift weights its not too hard throwing a ball and if your a good hitter you will hit 3rd clean up or 5th and play outfeild its not hard catching a fly ball thats where good hitters usually play that and first base

your in the same situation as me, i bought a hitaway thing that you put on a pole and it swings around and you hit it again. I'm a sophomore and i didnt play Freshman year because my school is Number 9 in the country. Now i think i can make it so good luck to you and good luck to you.
