I'm trying out for a traveling softball team. Any tips for nerves or anything else?

I'm extremely nervous and really don't know how the tryouts are going to go. I'm also nervous because I haven't been training all summer. I mean I've practiced a little here and there but for the past week I've been training. Please help me.

I forgot to add that I've been running everyday (around my block since I live in town). I've been going to the batting cages every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Throwing every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you have any other tips please let me know or email me: softball4eva327@yahoo.com

Not training over the summer is a big mistake. But if you've been training for the past few weeks you should be ok. Before my fastpitch tryouts last year I started training 3 months in advance. By having weekly private hitting lessons, going to the batting cage at least twice a week, going to day long baseball/softball clinics about once every 2 weeks, and helping to coach a baseball fielding clinic on weekends.

Make sure that you get to your tryouts early so that you arent freaking out about being late and so that you have enough time to get ready without rushing, also make sure that you eat something good before. I always eat bananas and granola bars if it in the morning or homemade mac and cheese and bananas if it is later in the day. Pasta is always really good. Make sure you are completely warmed up before it starts and then just have fun and dont worry about how well other players are doing, just play hard. Coaches like players who hussel and dive after balls, who support their teammates, and that are aggresive and arent afraid to make any mistakes. Also, if you make a mistake dont make a big deal about it. Just keep yourself focused on what you are trying to do and do it to the best of your ability. Also, congratulate other players when they make great plays or do something great, coaches will be watching how you support your teammates. What's important is that at the end of the day if you can say that you did your best, then the results will show it.

Oh yeah, nerves. Just be confident, dont think that any player is above you or that anyone is better than you, but at the same time dont think that you are better than anyone else. Just see everyone as an equal, and go out there and have fun. Dont get down on mistakes, everyone there is going to make mistakes and be just as nervous as you are, if not more. So have fun.

Breathing exercises
Yoga
Belief in yourself
Laws of attraction

you could take steriods and dominate lol j/k

just relax and play hard, and you will be fine.
