I'm not a yankee fan but they played great baseball in the second half. I don't like the team but I admire many of their players: Jeter, Matsui, Posada, Mussina, A-Rod, Damon. These guys could play on my team anyday. And Joe Torre is the epitome of class who brings dignity and a quiet style to the game. I was so happy that they won. I was so ready for them to win. Lets see if the can win the world series This is so true, and this is what i'm trying to express! Anything can happen in a short series, and you never know who will get hot! I never will take any team for granted after what happened last yr!! I thought we had last yrs series Bagged,Who would have ever thought OLD MAN Kenny Rogers would have shut us down? And lets not forget the 2004 fesico with the RS,,You just NEVER KNOW!! I was at the game last night and we had a blast! I'd say about 85% of Tropicana Field's attendance was Yankee fans. The D-Rays fans were a little cocky after their early 1-0 lead but after Jeter's home run they didn't have much to say. After the 5th inning most of them left!! It was a great night. There was a lot of emotion in the stands and on the field. I am not a Yankee fan neither, but what they did on the second half of the season is really awesome. You can never take any playoff team for granted. They are there for a reason. It was really great to see the rookies going ballistic with the champagne. Johnny Damon was right when he said to cherish every playoff experience that comes along, you never know when you'll make it again. It's not word for word but it was something along those lines. I starred this question, and I'm answering. Cleveland has sweet starters, but its bullpen will come into play and the Yankees will touch them up, while taking that series in four games. I hope the Yanks win one for The Boss, who is seemingly in not that great of health. Im glad someopnme besides me ahd some faith, we believe! It's not relief for me.........They've now done it 13 years in a row...........It's just a matter of when they'll get back into YANKEE form and that's usually sometime around the All Star Game every year...........As for those who say we buy games, that really irritates me..........So many of our players are "home grown" and when we need to go out and buy a player we do and that's part of the game........Our payroll is apx. $210 million..........Does anyone know what Boston's payroll is???...........It's $195 million so the clubs who want winning teams and have the backroll go out and buy players and that's the way it should be........I'm sick and tired of the complaining about A-Rod as being bought..........We got A-Rod in a deal where Texas is still paying apx. 1/2 of his contract.............That's some pretty good shopping!!!!........An owner who wants a winning team does whatever it takes to put one together.............The ones that don't have few fans to fill their stadiums and don't make playoffs, don't make it to the Series and create no excitement.........I do believe that it will be easier for us to beat Cleveland first round.......The Angels and Sox are both tough teams and will play tough.......Depending on how many games their first round goes they could be tired teams........We did beat Cleveland all 6 this year and no, it's not a cake walk but it is the easier way to start..............OK, I'll get off my soapbox now...........BTW GREAT QUESTION!!!!!........CAT Those who want to keep using the buying excuse are just bitter b/c their teams owners don't care enough to improve their team. The biggest hypocrites of these buying accusations are some Met Braves Red Sox & Angels fans. It'a laughable when they accuse considering these mentioned teams have very high payrolls themselves. Yes, I am proud of the Yankees for coming back the way they did. I would like to see them win #27 in 2007. GO YANKEES LETS WIN IT FOR THE SCOOTER!!!! Yes, you are right...and as always, I agree with you! I am not a fan but wish all that are in the platoffs good luck If you could 'buy' a championship, the teams would all just stop playing now, and Bud Selig would hand the trophy to George Steinbrenner already. |
