How many innings are in a standard tournament game for Slugger Youth League, 7-8 year olds??

My boy has been playing the tournaments and was one game away from the championship when the coach from the other team suddenly decided in the bottom of the 4th inning (they've been playing 4 innings all season, and the other coach's team was losing in the bottom of the 4th) that they were supposed to play FIVE innings. This is news to me, was news to the coaches, and our umpire I don't think was even mentally THERE.

I'm contacting the head of youth baseball but want my facts straight first.....

A game at that age (7-8) consists of 5 innings usually with a time limit too, of 1 hour and 15 minutes. I guess the reason why your son has been playing 4 innings all year is because the time limit expired, just like it does to many youngsters because there innings are slow. Or, maybe your league is different and plays 4, but generally for that age the play 5 innings with a time limit.
