How to pitch a curve ball?(Boys fast pitch Youth)?

i need to know how to pitch a curve..badly!!!!

I wouldn't learn that pitch just yet. I'd wait until you're older and have a stonger arm. It will mess up your arm. I know from experince. I started pitching when I was 12 and pitched until my senior year of high school. My senior year, I sat out. My arm was done for. Try throwing a change-up. In a league you're in, a fastball and change-up would be all you need. If your a lefty, fastball is all you need. We have that natural break. Good Luck bud.

The way I learned it, which will help prevent you from ruining your elbow, is to hold the ball between your thumb and index finger with your middle finger under the ball. Throw the ball normally, but with your thumb and index fingers beside the ball, instead of under and over as you would a fastball, and let it "slip" out with forward rotation. I dominated when I was 10-12 using this pitch.

You should not start pitching a curve until you are at least 13. I'm assuming you are at that age or over so this is how I threw a curveball when I played baseball. Get a two seam grip, bring your middle finger down the horseshoe to the side of it (keep it on the seam), and put your index finder right next to it. When you are throwing it, dont turn the ball backwards, short arm it, twist your wrist, and practice it a lot before you try it in a game.

Don't try it!!!!!!!!! until High School.

there are numerous ways to throw a curve

i'm a righty side-armer that throws a 11-5 curve, 10-4 slurve, and a 9-3 slider, with a splitty, and sinking heater as my pitches.

my slider i throw with a U seam with my middle finger following the inside right of the U putting pressure on the seam to get the movement

my slurve changes where i put the index finger on the inside right of the U and flicking the wrist slightly

my curve i hold with a 4-seam grip and i throw the back of my hand at home plate getting as much torque on the ball as possible as to get the dropping motion.

these grips work for me, they may not for you. PLEASE keep that in mind, especially because you haven't told us your arm motion, whether ur a righty or wrong handed, and how old you are...

personally, i would not recommend throwing a curve or any type of breaking pitch until i was 15 or 16 due to the stress it can put on the arm at such an early age if taught incorrectly. i am a full utility (C primarily, P, 2B, 3B, SS, OF) player for my team here and in my 12yrs of playing (i'm 22) i've seen 9, i repeat 9, 13-17 yr old have to stop playing completly or not be able to pitch due to shoulder/elbow pain due to over-throwing

no you don't need to throw a curve... it is a very predictable pitch and you can screw ur arm up.

go with the changeup
