Will the Cardinals fire Tony Larussa?

I haven't heard any rumors or anything, but do you think La Russa will be back next year. As a cardinals fan would you want him back? Please explain your answer. Thanks

I think Tony did a good enough job this season to earn the right to stay or leave. We were in the race up until last weekend. I want Tony back if Walt is going to get serious this winter about signing good ball players. I'll give him a pass on Adam Kennedy but Kip Wells was deplorable

The decision to "rob Peter to pay Paul" in the pitching department has really killed us this whole season and not cutting ties with Mulder was weak. Mulder couldn't do his job in 05 vs Houston.

It would have been nice to see Rolen let go during the trade deadline, I don't mind Edmonds with the young outfield we have but when are we going to let Ludwick and Duncan play

That's how I feel if we're going to go cheap again or young next season I would rather see Oquendo get a chance but if we are serious about getting a pitching staff and looking to replace Rolen then by all means bring Tony back

no

I do not think so. I wish that they would, because his dealings with pitchers and with rookies haven't been the greatest if you know what I mean. The reason I do not hink that they are going to fire Tony is because of his win/loss reacord. He is 3rd all time for winningest managers. I still think he should go.

No. He's only a year removed from winning the Series. They'll probably give him at least another year to right the ship.

Its too soon after LaRussa won the World Series. Ozzie Guillen got an extension after this miserable season. I think its more likely that LaRussa resigns. But I can't think of any team that if they had LaRussa would fire him after 1 bad year.

His contract is up at the end of the season, so it's not a matter of firing.

I think he should be offered a contract to stay and let it be his decision to stay or go. He's earned that right for being the winningest coach in franchise history.

No. Tony will stay. The Cardinals have alot of outfielders to choose from. Some players got mad because of there playing time.

I'd be very surprised if the Cardinals give LaRussa
a contract extension. He had that very awful embarrassing DUI incident just prior to the season and his team has almost crashed and burned during the last 2 weeks. I think he's run his course in St. Louis and will not get a new contract.

he won a world series last year?

i think he will stay. you can't take one bad year and base a career on it. he has had an amazing career. really this year was almost idenical to last years, except they didn't get the job done this year. i think that it's time to focus on pitching. we haven't had outstanding pitching in a long time, and that what we need. as for the out feilder, i am not a big duncan fan, so i would rather see someone else there, i like ankel playing right, i think he does a great job and definatly edmonds another year.

i think he will stay, is contract is almost over . but i think he can get it renue it and go on.
