The Yankees easily win this trade. Abreu has been horrible all season and Dye has started hitting better over the past few weeks. Abreu looks lost at the plate and if he can't hit with A-Rod behind there is no way he turns it around in Chicago.

Yankees will benefit most from it. Abreu's defense is horrible and his power is pretty much gone. He is basically becoming Brian Giles. Great hitter who loses power, and walks constantly.

Dye will definitely be an upgrade defensively and while he'll get on base less, he'll produce more.

Sunday night, against the Red Sox, when he let the ball get by him, he didn't hustle towards the ball at all, he just leisurely jogged. Players like that are bad for baseball, and bad for any team.

Abreu is rapidly declining; at the plate, on the field & around the bases- hes not the player he was.

Dye is consistantly getting better even though hes been around for a little bit. Hes still not at the level Abreu was in Philly, but if he stays healthy I see him ending up better.

The Yankees need a bat behind A-Rod and Abreu isnt cutting it. Dye would fit perfectly in the 4 spot on that team, behind Damon Jeter and A-Rod.

Both Abreu and Dye are slumping badly, but the Yankees would get the better end of the deal. They would get a much needed right hand bat and better defense.

The Yankee announcers always praise Abreu's defense and arm, but everything always seems to fall right in front of him and he always bounces the ball to the cutoff man. That doesn't sound too good to me.

This is obviously a false rumor as this trade is so far in favor of the Yankees it isn't funny.

Yankees by far, Abreu is a chump who can't play his posistion and he's doing a-rod no good with that waste of lumber in front of him in the order, Dye would not only make a great #3 hitter but we'd get a great glove too.

My only concern is if Dye came can he stay healthy (which something the yankees can't seem to do this year)

Edit: I wouldn't mind them throwing vizcaino in that deal, because they probably can't just deal abreu for dye, if they did it would be the typical yankee trade, we give you this guy and pick up most of his contract.

There is no talk of this trade on tv, in print or on the radio in Chicago. This is a made up rumor. The Sox will not trade Dye to the Yankees.
The Yankees will not be able to make a trade since they have no one to give up in their farm system. They will only be able to buy a player from Tampa or Pittsburgh.

Hey, The Yankees can't be any more successful than they are now. Dye would be better than Abreu, but I don't think the Yankees want to lose the Huge contract they have with Abreu. They like spending the money you know.

this trade rumor would not help the Yankees....baseball is not like basketball where you can out-score opponent and expect to be successful...what yankees need is pitching help, starting staff, bullpen and even closing out the game...pitching is 70% of the game...unless they are planning to use Dye as trade bait to go after YOUNGER pitching stud.
