so 5 days a week i play baseball BY MYSELF. my dad is too busy and buildings he owns so about once every 3 weeks he'll play for an hour. but i dont have a tee or money to get one. so i throw the ball up swing fast and go get it and repeat i do that for about an hour along with running drills. then i throw against the fence for grounders and help my arm strength. any ideas on batting??? cause my swing is bad and when my dad pitches i can hit the ball a lot farther than when i throw it up. cause of the bad swing...and ideas?? THANKS 1- batting tips when batting alone (throwing the ball up and swinging is not effective) |

yah, forget softball....i play baseball too. anyway, for your swing: you do not need to have a ball to work on your mechanics, in fact, don't use one until you are ready to put your mechanics into tee work or live pitching. first, you wanna have a correct batting stance; before swinging, you must have lower body mechanics or nothing else will matter. you should be standing in an athletic postion: knees bent, and make sure you are not hunching over. if it helps to keep your weight back when you swing, shift a little of your weight to your back leg. |

Ok idk what your taling about do want a way to help you bat or how to not throw it up throw a ball against a handball wall, and use your glove to field it(tennis ball) You don't need a batting tee. Have you ever seen one of those orange cones on the street where construction is being done? Take one. A lot of people use them as a tee. There are other drills you can do but it will take too long to type them out in detail. The most important thing in your swing is that you are short and compact. Take the knob of the bat to the pitchers feet instead of coming all the way around with your swing. To work on your fielding, get a spongeball, tennis ball or even a hardball. Throw it against a wall over and over again fielding it with no glove. The glove doesn't catch the ball, your hands do. You have to work on having soft hands and playing without a glove will help. Make sure you field the ball out in front of your body and in the middle of your body whenever possible. Keep your glove down on the ground and keep your feet moving to get momentum on your throw. Hope I was able to help. |
