i have been in powder puff basketball softball and ice skating for 10 years and now i joined the competitive cheer team and it is the hardes sport i have ever done u dont just cheer its hard we have 4 hour practicies 6 days a week and i bet any one who says it isnt a sport cant do a back tuck or hand spring or layout full or half and we dont cheer for the football team we compete and get tropheys just go to a competition and look for your self its harder than football basketball and softball and i no by experience so everyone just needs to no that cheer leading isnt just sideline there it also competitive cheer where u get thrown up in the air 20feet and are ecpected to twist 3 times then land the right way?????!!

There is different kind of cheerleading, i realize that. But cheerleading in competition and cheering at a football game is different. We are not used to seeing what your used to so 99% of us don't realize. I understand what you go through and i do believe cheerleading is a sport.

its not a sport but it is hard and challenging

well its like many things, why don't they call fishing a sport? it is, many people practice it long and hard, it requires a supprising amounts of skill? the answer becuase when people think sport, football, baseball, basketball all come to mind, and cheer leading is very close to a gymnastic display, done at these events so it seems like a dance, and people don't look on dancing as a sport, which it is, its an art to though and you should practice it, and thing that is important is not weather or not it is a sport, you could argue until the cows come home, its wheather you enjoy doing it, and following it.

I say cheerleading isn't a sport because you don't keep score or win or lose. I know there's competitions with scoring and first place and all, but that's really made up and more of a game then a sport. Like other games that have scores and winning that aren't sports.

I lost a bet to the cheerleaders at my school. I said girls cant beat guys in sports and cheerleading isn't a sport and they bet if I lost to a cheerleader in basketball they get to make me cheer any way they want. What do you think they'll make me wear and do for it?
