| Emotional probs... SOS? |

well.. i have very bad emotional problems... mainly in sports. softball the most, because i take it the most seriously. i really don't have a high self esteem anyways.. so when i make a dumb mistake or strike out or can't hit the ball... i pretty much lose it.. first i get pissed and throw my helmet, glove, ext, then i cry. i've done this for years... some times worse then others and at last night's game.. it was certainly the worse. i'm being threatened to not be able to play any more sports and my dad won't go to anymore of my games. i've tried so hard to get better and control myself, but i can't and I don't know what to do. can someone please please help me. I love softball, it's my life and i've been doing it forever and i don't want it to end. |

You need to remeber it's just a "game". There is nothing in your resume' that says softball player. Please lighten up and know it's for fun.. not millions of dollars.. This will sound weird, but it helped me. Try to do yoga/meditate/anything that will get your heart rate steady BEFORE games and practices. I read a article on yahoo, explaining how stress makes you gain weight; belive it or not, I remember that much more than how stupid I am going to feel after throwing a fit! I have really low self esteem also, so I started making an effort to look my best in the morning. Its a pain and time consuming, but I think its worth it to take a hour in the morning so I feel better the rest of the day. Good luck and hang in there!! |
